Product Claims of Men's Rogaine

Men around the world have long been dealing with hair loss. Men's Rogaine was one of the first products that came on the market and “revolutionized“ the way men handle hair loss and regrowth. However, this review of Men's Rogaine will give you a different perspective to the well-marketed brand, especially with regards to their formula and their policies.

Men's Rogaine, in this case the Unscented Foam version, is said by the company to be the first FDA-approved hair regrowth product and that close to 90% of men who use it for four months show hair regrowth. Read our review below to find out more.

Ingredients

  • Active ingredient: Minoxidil 5%
  • Inactive ingredients:
    • Butane
    • Butylated hydroxytoluene
    • Cetyl Alcohol
    • Citric Acid
    • Glycerin
    • Isobutane
    • Lactic Acid
    • Polysorbate 60
    • Propane
    • Purified Water
    • SD Alcohol
    • 40-B
    • Stearyl Alcohol

While the main ingredient, Minoxidil at 5%, is known to help with hair loss, it can cause some serious side effects. Several users have complained of allergic reactions such as itching, hives, fast heartbeat, unwanted facial hair, unexplained weight gain and more. Moreover, this product needs to be taken for a few months before users can start seeing results.

Dosage Instructions

Half a capful should be applied and massaged into the scalp in the hair loss area two times a day. Hands must be washed after and users must read the booklet that comes with the product for complete directions. It is important to note not to use more than recommended as it will not increase the chances of results. Users are also warned to continue use even once they see results, as hair loss may begin again otherwise.

There are also many important notes on the label such as not using this product if the scalp is red or infected, if the hair loss is patchy and sudden, if you use other medications on the scalp or you are under 18 years of age. It is equally important that the amount of hair loss should be similar to that shown on the product packaging. This product is not intended for frontal baldness or receding hairline.

Cost and Guarantee

Men's Rogaine unscented foam comes in a few packages for purchase.

  • Four-month supply auto delivery for $59.99
  • Six-month auto delivery for $84.99
  • Twelve- month supply for $159.99

Rogaine has a return policy of 30 days. However, any package bought, either a 1-month, 6-month or 12-month supply can only be returned if unopened and unused, within the first 30 days after purchase.

Summary of our Men's Rogaine Review

Men's Rogaine has done a good job of marketing its product. It could be called THE hair regrowth formula for men. However, after researching we found some disturbing facts. First, their product consists of one active ingredient, which is a medication. Second, the product guarantee is weak at best, being too short to allow customers a risk-free trial. The product's effectiveness is, apparently, limited as evidenced by the instructions regarding who can and cannot use Rogaine based on the type of hair loss they have. Lastly, it takes months before a user sees a return on investment. While we do agree that for some people it may be worth trying, just the headache of taking a medication that is not refunded if used, is too much for us. Find a product that is all-natural, provides similar hair regrowth but without all the headaches.
